Guide To Working From Home

If you work from home or are thinking about it this article had some pretty good tips. One of my favorites on the list was:

8. Put some clothes on, k? It might be just you at home, and those sweats from college are mighty comfy, but set aside time each morning to actually “get ready” for the day. Keep your outfit casual and comfortable, but not in the pajama family. It might sound unnecessary, but you’ll feel more professional, and you’ll be prepared if a last-minute meeting comes up.

A new book, Nailed: The History of Nail Culture and Dzine, is a 232-page exploration into the underground world of nail culture. It traces the growth of nail art around the world—from Ming dynasty China to ancient Egypt—and includes images of nails captured by commissioned photographers and Dzine, the contemporary artist who authored the book. It explores the nail-art movement and addresses body adornment in general—with luscious pictures of bejeweled nails, sculptural talons, and other pieces of wearable art that make typing on a keyboard or putting in your contact lenses look like a walk in the park.

The Drop-Crotch Skinny Jean: Waaah?

Drop-crotch-style pants enjoyed a brief moment in the sun a few seasons ago, and — we admit — made really cool girls look even cooler, while making the rest of us look like we were wearing adult diapers. Lest you thought that bandwagon had already rolled off into the sunset, Oak is reviving the terrifying trend with their drop-crotch skinny jean. When drop-crotches do work, they’re usually in a thicker jersey material, cut a little baggy, and without a fly, back pockets, or any other details that’d make people think your butt actually looked like a deflated beach ball. But these jeans forgo all of those saving graces…and if they make the model look like Infinite Torso Woman, we can only imagine how they’d look on us. The only thing less attractive might be a drop-crotch panty. Hey — Valentine’s Day is coming up… we can always hope Oak is into lingerie, too! For Oak jeans that deliver in the derriere department, check out their entire denim collection, which features more than plenty non-DC options.
